With reference to our previous letters on this subject,

we now enolose for your information translation of pernits with recaipt

relating to the purchase of one ball of New Patna Opium for transit to

Shun Tak, a district some distance from Canton. You will observe that

the purchaser of this one ball of opium, on which duty and likin had

already been paid to the Oustoms and bearing the Customs transit certi-

ficate, had to pay to the Kwong Wing Un Hong an additional tax of $ 7.20.

and give an undertaking to prepare the opium within three days.

We also enclose translation of a letter we have just receiv-

We are, dear sir,
